Explore a Book

Let’s go on a little treasure hunt. A literary adventure, if you will. Let me give you a little background on the map you are about to read before you start your quest. I just adore programming and creating new things to make life easier or more enjoyable for someone. I also enjoy writing procedures. (I know that’s slightly odd, but someone has to do it.) So that’s what you’re going to get here, a little tutorial on all the exciting ways you can encounter a book on Carla’s Book Crush (CBC).

There’s More Than One Way to Talk About A Book

I really had fun with this, folks. I will have to give credit to other bloggers and book sites because I took inspiration from little things here and there as I made my way through their sites. Maybe took them a little too far, but that’s okay. Let’s start following the trail.

Book Reviews

Yes, I write those and if you want to hear more about my philosophy on them, then check out my About section. Or just read about anything on the site, you’ll get it, you’re smart. Within those Book Reviews are little nuggets, a trail that will lead you deeper. We’ll use book review for Through The Valley as an example. On any review you will find the following information:

Here’s the thrilling part … the links! If you click on an author’s name in any book review it will take you to an author page that has all the books I’ve reviewed by that author in one spot. It’s a little zip line of a ride that will take you to your next destination.

If you are really intrigued by the series, click the link on the series name. And just like that, you have every book review I’ve written for that series in chronological order. Be forewarned that it may be a fragmented trail because I may not have read every book in that series. But if it’s on the map, my goal is to do so one day.

Is this making you as happy as it makes me? I hope so! But there’s more …

With your cursor hovering over Book Page, with a tiny click of your mouse it will take you to the …

You guessed it, Book Page! Perchance you don’t like my incessant (ummmm, poetic) ramblings about the story and how it stirred my very soul, that’s okay. I have a little Book Bite for you, a short paragraph to give you enough information to move forward. You can also find things like the publisher’s information, the author bio if I have it available and at the bottom, my very favorite part…every single place that book is referenced on CBC! And that reference section will just grow over time. Every book list that cites that novel will just keep stacking up. Heck, even if you don’t use it, I will.

But There’s Also the Easy Route

This trek could be a little more than what you want. I get it, I get tired too and sometimes need a break. No worries, I got your back. The tried and true Book Directory (yawn…) is right there on the navigation bar. I’m just joshing you, I actually use that a lot as well.

You can find reviews by author, category, series and title. For all my Amish romance peeps out there, you can find all the same things narrowed down to just the Amish reads under Amish in the navigation bar.

Or, you can always use the search function. It’s in the middle of the sidebar under my social links.

Just like there are so many ways to read, there are so many ways to scout out your next literary escape on CBC. I hope this helps you on your next reading adventure!
