Hello, I’m Carla!
My time here on the interwebs is constantly evolving. Because I evolve. Remaining stagnant stills the heart, so I choose to keep moving, to find more things that make my pulse race: books with romantic glances, handsome heroes, or chilling surprises. While I still primarily read kisses only romance, I also keep a variety of books available to me. I never know what mood is going to grab me. The literary life is taking hold, and I want to embrace it in all of its many aspects. One might say I’ve developed a little crush.
I’m not your typical blogger. My publishing schedule is somewhat loose, and if I need a break, I take one. This blog is a hobby, and I treat it as such. When I’m inspired, I write. When I’m not… well, you know. I don’t follow mainstream trends, read overly hyped books, or search out books with five star ratings. Although, if you like Amish romance as much as I do, you’ll find plenty of five star reads there.
The book reviews are primarily on those fun romance reads that I never want to put down. They are penned as expressions of me, weaving in little tidbits (but not spoilers!) about the book but also sharing how those words impacted me. I cherish the moments when I get transported to another time or place but I also appreciate how books, even fiction (maybe even especially fiction!), make me think about the world around me.
Of course, there are other types of books: gems of classic literature, books that teach a skill, and books that improve our reading, our relationships, and our relationship with reading. To read and share my perspectives and experiences when I interact with such books, and to hear yours, is what this blog is all about. But, do not let me lead you astray, I do talk about romance a lot. That’s my first crush, the one I won’t forget or let go of.
