My Review and Reflections
Rebecca Young is unmarried, unattached, and very much pregnant. Desperate for a job in her field, she takes a part-time librarian position in her now deceased exโs hometown. What she wasnโt expecting was her exโs cousin, Walker Greystone. But thatโs okay, Walker wasnโt Rebecca either. This sweet love story had a great beginning that drew you in and made you want to keep reading.
This love story was a little unexpected in that it didnโt follow the typical romance formula. There was no big misunderstanding that made Rebecca and Walker turn away from each other; instead, the focus is on Rebecca and Walkerโs internal struggles and how they handle them. While it makes for a sweet story, I did miss the formula just a little. I liked that Rebecca didnโt think of the pregnancy as a mistake; some of her struggles were related, but she wasn’t spending time beating herself up over this. All babies are a gift from God. Given that this is a Christian romance, I appreciate that Auguste didnโt toe the line on that storyline. It helped keep me engaged that it wasnโt a story of repentance on premarital relations. Overall, this was a good love story. I look forward to reading more from Auguste.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book, which I received from the author via ustRead Publicity Tours. All opinions are my own.
