Can this single mom have it all

Without losing her heart?

Just when Tam Rochester’s dreams of expanding her herb shop and being able to support her daughter are finally coming true, Patrick Butler arrives in town. She wasn’t counting on the single dad’s plans for a bakery right across the street or the competition it’ll bring. Tam’s not afraid to fight for her future, but going toe-to-toe with Patrick would be easier if she didn’t adore his kids—and if she could just ignore her growing feelings for the too-talented baker…

Rating: 4 out of 5.

This is a feel-good read that started a little slowly but ended on a high note. I liked that both parents were raising daughters on their own, and the two girls were often smarter than their parents. The fact that Patrick’s daughter Scarlet had a hard life made you value Patrick stepping in for her more. Sometimes Tam came off a little cold and distant, but I suppose the story wouldn’t have been as engaging if she had fallen in love on page one.

I thought the competing businesses made a strong premise. However, it also made it hard for the main characters to give in to the feelings they were developing for each other, which contributed to the slower pace at the start. I respected that both parents were willing to do whatever it takes to truly give their children the best life possible. Patrick’s willingness to take on a baby that wasn’t even his was especially moving.

This was not my first book by Thorne. I find her a compelling writer who can tug at my heartstrings. I look forward to reading many more books by her. If you enjoy uplifting inspirational romance, you will really enjoy this book. And if you like reading about food, especially sweets, then you’ll love this book.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book, which I received from the author.

Now that you mention it, it is. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one in real life.

It is but I had to check the sine several times to confirm it was blue like the other LI books. I didn’t want an off color on the shelf. LOL.
