The Ten Most Recent Additions to My Kindle Library

I’m great about sharing my physical books on The Sunday Post because they are literally sitting on my desk. I keep them on my desk until I have photographed them for Instagram and shared them in The Sunday Post. The Kindle books, not so much. Yes, my Kindle is typically on my desk but I rarely take a peek at it. Not to mention that sometimes it’s just too many free books to mention in one post. So, in the spirit of showing these authors and books some much needed attention – here are the ten most recent additions to my Kindle library. As an FYI, all of them were free at the time I received them.

More Than I Bargained For by Jessica Leigh Johnson
Buy on Amazon!

As Anna and Daniel struggle to create the “perfect” Christmas for their loved ones, they may just discover that they’ve been going about it all wrong—and that true joy can’t be found on a store shelf.

On Black Friday, Anna McAllister has one job: secure this year’s most sought-after toy, the TeddyTab, for her niece for Christmas. When she loses the last one to a frustratingly handsome architect, she’s sure to be put on the naughty list for life. Will she be able to find another one before she ruins her niece’s chance at a merry Christmas?

Daniel Hawkins has struggled for almost two years to be both mother and father to his six-year-old daughter. Since his wife’s passing, he can’t seem to get Christmas right. When he learns that the coveted TeddyTab is the one thing his daughter wants for Christmas, he braves the cold on Black Friday morning and snatches the last one off the shelf.

Unfortunately, securing the bear means taking it from the first woman to stir his emotions since losing his wife. Guilt, not to mention those blue eyes, drives him to give the bear back, but unless he can find a way into Anna’s heart, nobody’s going to get what they want this year.

“Jessica Leigh Johnson’s writing voice is witty and snarky and endearing with spark-filled romantic tension, a sweet-but-never-preachy faith thread, and stellar comedic timing.”

This Christmas, in Blue Flag, New York, the jingle bells aren’t the only things rocking and rolling.

As a rock star topping the charts, I’m used to my life being a non-stop show.
But this Christmas, I’m trading stadium lights for twinkling stars in my hometown of Blue Flag, New York.

My parents’ quaint mountain bed and breakfast is a far cry from the Hollywood hills, but it’s exactly the escape I need.
Accompanying me on this yuletide retreat are two people who keep my world spinning: Bryn, my best friend and personal assistant, and her twin brother Kade—my silent, smoldering bodyguard who’s had my heart racing since our teen years.

Kade, a former Navy SEAL, is about as excited to return to Blue Flag as a snowman is to sunbathe. His usual stoic demeanor has turned downright frosty. But the temperature between us rises when a blizzard strands us at the inn, cutting off all communication.

Just as our silent night threatens to become something more, my ex-boyfriend makes a surprise appearance, turning our little Christmas getaway into a full-blown holiday rock opera.

With the storm outside and emotions swirling inside, this Christmas is shaping up to be anything but silent.
Will the season’s magic be enough to melt Kade’s icy exterior, or will this rockstar’s holiday hit all the wrong notes?

I prefer digital formats to physical books (I know I’m an anomaly) but they are easier to hold and don’t require the dusting of a large library! Have a great week Carla.

Actually, I don’t think you’re an anomaly anymore. There are so many reasons to enjoy e-books over print books one of them, especially being able to reduce the number of things that you bring into your home. I guess I’m just a little old-fashioned when it comes to book.

Yes!  It can be so easy to forget those books on Kindle!  I’ve added The Alchemist, Give Her Credit and The Answer is No.  I find it more challenging to read ebooks, but now that we are traveling more (to visit my parents), I’ve developed a crush on my Kindle.  😊

I enjoy reading e-books now that I do have an actual Kindle. When I was using my tablet, it’s just so bright and it’s strange your eyes so much. The Kindle is much kinder.

After having books languish for years I have DRASTICALLY cut back even on free books for the Kindle. If my library has it, I won’t download it, or if it’s available on Kindle Unlimited I won’t download it either, LOL! All of these look great and I hope you enjoy them when you get to them.

That’s great willpower, Cindy! I have skipped free books this week and I know that there’s another freebie day today January 26, but I don’t intend to download any.

There’s nothing better than free books! I agree, though, I tend to buy bargain Kindle books and then forget all about them. Out of sight, out of mind. This looks like a fun lineup. I haven’t read any of them, although I have read Johnson before, but it was way back in the day when she was writing YA books. I hope you enjoy all these.

    Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

It’s easy to forget what’s on your Kindle. What’s nice though is that I have a nice library of various authors. If I want to consider being on an ARC team, I most likely have something already and can get a sense of their writing style before I make a decision.

I said I was going to read what I had in my physical TBR pile and Kindle library before acquiring anything new (yeah, right!) But I showed great restraint this month and only added three to my Kindle. Murder Under Construction, a fun, quirky mystery by Maddie Cochere. A psychological thriller (can’t resist them!) The Unknown Woman, but Rylie Dark, and an ARC of a historical Christian romance, to read and review for friend and fellow PBG author, Penelope Marzec, Love’s Gift.

It’s hard not to acquire new books. Whether you are paying for them or getting them for free, somehow I haven’t read a good psychological thriller in a while. Maybe I should make time to pick one up. Happy reading!
