The Sunday Post #15: Batting a Thousand

Okay, I’m not really batting a thousand, this post is going up late and I don’t have any posts written for the week. But I do have over 1,000 followers on my Bookstagram and I hit over 1,000 pageviews on the blog this month. I’d like to say this is just a hobby and I don’t care about such things but I wouldn’t be fooling anyone.

I didn’t take off work over the holidays so I was only off on Christmas day, My week has been pretty much typical – working, reading, and knitting. I did get a wonderful gift from my daughter – a picture of almost the entire family. She was pregnant with Gkid at the time so I guess it’s like she’s in the photo. Currently reading: The Rise and Fall of Miss Fannie’s Biscuits

Money was super tight this year since my husband’s boss forgot to hand out their bonsuses (don’t get me started!) so no Santa or books for me at all but at the end of the week I ordered five books on Thriftbooks — including a few Nancy Drew books. I’m excited for those.

I will not get you started! I don’t think I’m getting much with a $50 Amazon card but at least it was something. I love Thriftbooks! Enjoy your Nancy Drew mysteries!

Great post! I’m thinking of adding some book reviews to my mish mash of posts next year, lol. I deleted my Instagram account, kept getting a warning message about suspicious activity, who needs that? So it’s just my blog, Goodreads and X accounts as far as social media. That’s really more than I have time for anyway :) Look forward to seeing your reviews for ’25.

I have a Goodreads account but no X. I do agree that it’s all time consuming but I don’t feel bad if I neglect something for a few days. It’ll still be there when I get to it.

Welcome to Carla’s Book Crush where I share my favorite clean, Christian reads. I review everything from Amish and historical romance to suspense, contemporary fiction, nonfiction, and the occasional devotional. If it has heart, hope, and a message that points back to Christ, it’s probably on my shelf. I also love chatting with authors and featuring interviews that give you a peek behind the pages. Whether you’re looking for a new release, a cozy weekend read, or just something uplifting and well-written, you’re in the right place. Clean stories. Encouraging faith. Books worth reading.
