The Sunday Post #12: Looking My Age

Last week I wished for silence and that’s pretty much what I’ve got. Well, at least as I’m writing this on Saturday. I’ve spent the day reading, knitting, baking bread, and now blogging. Pretty much what I look for when it comes to silence.

The week was mostly work, which I’m dreadfully behind on. I took half a day off to talk to my surgeon on Tuesday. We scheduled surgery for January. There’s a 20% chance he won’t be able to do what is needed. If that happens, I’ll have to see a thoracic surgeon for a much more invasive operation. Still, the most disturbing thing I read in his after visit summary. He said I looked my age! I’ll be 55 this month. Did his mother teach him nothing?

Surgeons do not seem to be known for their tact :-D I hope you can have the least-invasive surgery.

I took a four-year blogging break from 2016-2020 and tried to change my ways to make it a more sustainable hobby for me but I keep falling into my old patterns. Ah well. I hope you have more success than I have!

I fall into old habits too. Checking stats, making sure I’m engaging with others enough even when I don’t have the time, etc. The only thing I’m ignoring is SEO. It’s just too much work.

I don’t think I’ll mind looking my age, but wow, they should know people will be sensitive about it! Good luck with the surgery when it comes… and not worrying too much until it’s time!

Good luck with your upcoming surgery. Some doctors have zero bedside manner. I’m sure I look my age too and that’s normal….lol.

That sounds like a nice quiet Sunday. Thanks for the book lovers gifts links, I’m bookmarking it.

I get so few days anymore to sit and blog like I used to have about a year ago, and I miss those days! But I guess I wouldn’t give up the time I am spending with my mom to blog at home by myself. And, yeah, does your doctor not know that was rude? You never say that to a woman! lol. Anyway, I hope you have a good week!

I think I missed what you are having surgery on (or maybe you haven’t said), regardless, I hope it is successful. No, the doctor should not have said you look your age, that is annoying! i hope you have a great rest of the weekend.

Welcome to Carla’s Book Crush where I share my favorite clean, Christian reads. I review everything from Amish and historical romance to suspense, contemporary fiction, nonfiction, and the occasional devotional. If it has heart, hope, and a message that points back to Christ, it’s probably on my shelf. I also love chatting with authors and featuring interviews that give you a peek behind the pages. Whether you’re looking for a new release, a cozy weekend read, or just something uplifting and well-written, you’re in the right place. Clean stories. Encouraging faith. Books worth reading.
