The Sunday Post #10: Rinse and Repeat

This week really was work, read, knit. Rince and repeat. I did take Jeffrey to the vet twice on Friday. He has to have Vitamin B12 shots every other week for his pancreas and the first time I took him in he had some pretty strong objections. I took him back that afternoon an the vet tech was able to get him injected. Going forward, they gave me some medication to relax him. I hate giving him so many pharmaceuticals but it’s important that he get his shots and at 14 years old he’s only getting less tolerant, In case you weren’t aware, Jeffrey is a baby of the feline variety. You can see pics of him on my Bookstagram highlights. Lilly is also there, she’s the calico baby.

Next week is an atypical week both here and on the blog and at home. I’m going to work Monday through Wednesday and I’ve moved Thanksgiving to Saturday. I tend to plan holidays around my youngests schedule and that’s when he’s off work. It works better for me anyway, I have time to get things together. You’ll see below how I’m changing the blog schedule next week.

I hadn’t had anything to feed my cookbook addiction in awhile so I ordered The Complete Mediterranean Cookbook. I’m not going to cook from it until after the holidays because I don’t want to practice new dishes in the midst of all the holiday cooking but there are a lot of good recipes in here.

Cats are not afraid to make their objections known! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with our daughter – a movie and dinner out. Definitely not traditional! Have a wonderful holiday tomorrow!

They just have different ways of displaying those objections. Jeffrey gets aggressive and Lilly hides (so they have no issues with her). It doesn’t matter how you celebrate as long as you are spending time with the people you love.

You have reminded me that I need to read and review a cookbook soon. It’s been a long time.

I hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving on Saturday. We celebrated last weekend and we will celebrate with another group of family on Thursday. It really doesn’t matter when you get together, I think.

I don’t know if I’ll review this one but I do read cookbooks like I would any other book.

I don’t think it matters when you get together, either. It only matters that you spend time with the people that mean the most to you. Happy Thanksgiving, Deb!

It’s so hard taking the fur babies to the vet! My heart breaks for them because they have no idea why. It always stresses me out so. I hope Jeffrey is on the mend and did okay. I checked out your fur babies on Instagram and followed you back. Sorry didn’t realize you followed me! I hope you enjoy your time off with family this week. We will be doing a dinner with family on Saturday, too.

Unfortunately this is a shot he’ll need for the rest of his life. They don’t know why they are there but they know when they’re going home. I take Lilly to get her nails trimmed once a month and she cries the entire way there. On the way home, not a peep. LOL

      Glad we’re Bookstagram friends!

Awww poor Jeffrey! I remember I once had a kitty that got B12 via an oral medication, via an eyedropper or a syringe pusher thingy. Is the oral B12 an option for Jeffrey?

My sister and I used to get sick almost every Thanksgiving or Christmas so we were always having to move the dinner to another day. lol

    Enjoy!!!!

Never mind. I Googled and see that for pancreas issues it does have to be the injection. Bummer! Sorry Jeffrey!

Unfortunately the oral version of B12 won’t work for the pancreas.

The only thing worse than being sick on a holiday is being sick on vacation. Ugh!

There’s an Amish store in Branson we like to stop by. I see several when I go to different places in Missouri, and even though I always want to stop, I say I’ll do it on my way home, and then I’m just ready to get home and so I don’t. That’s a good plan to wait a bit on Thanksgiving to fit everyone’s schedule. With divorced parents when I got old enough to drive myself, instead of doing one or the other, I now have two meals in one day! I guess it’s good I’m not married and having to deal with in-laws too, lol. Have a good week!

I didn’t realize there is an Amish Store in Branson. Even though it’s only a few hours away, I don’t go to Branson anymore. Too many people for me. I know there are several here in Missouri, I’m always going by the Amish Community in Clark but never actually stop. I guess I’m afraid of being intrusive, especially since most of their stores are in their homes.

I always cater to my youngest schedule for holidays. He only lives 20 minutes away but he works nights so I don’t get to see him much.

I’m a little nervous about the meds. He was on an anti anxiety daily med for a while but it only made him more aggressive so I took him off it. He really is a mamma’s boy and only tolerates a few select people. I hope you have a wonderful week!
