Ten Amish Romances with Barns on the Cover

One would think that, with as many Amish books as I read, finding ten with barns on the cover would be easy. Not so. And when you add the challenge of not wanting to repeat authors, I almost gave up and considered “Ten Books with Words on the Cover.” Honestly, I’ve been tempted to go that route all week. However, after searching through my library history and NetGalley, I finally found ten books featuring barns on the cover, each by a different author.

Why barns? Well, I couldn’t find ten with knitting needles on the cover, and since I can see a farm from my house (watching the herd of cows is one of the highlights of my day), barns it is.

Note: I’ve put a ❤️ next to those I’ve read and enjoyed.

Luke Schrock is a new and improved man after a stint in rehab, though everyone in Stoney Ridge only remembers the old Luke. They might have forgiven him, but nobody trusts him.

Amos and Fern Lapp allow Luke to live at Windmill Farm under two conditions. First, Luke must make a sincere apology to each person he’s hurt–a four-page, single-spaced list. Second, he must ask each victim of mischief to describe the damage he caused.

Simple, Luke thinks. Offering apologies is easy. But discovering the lasting effects his careless actions have caused . . . that isn’t so simple. It’s gut-wrenching.

And his list keeps growing. Izzy Miller, beautiful and frustratingly aloof, also boards at Windmill Farm. Luke’s clumsy efforts to befriend Izzy only insult and annoy her. Madeline’s numb heart begins to thaw as she spends more time with the innocent and ever optimistic Emma. The stronger her friendship grows with the young girl, the more intrigued Madeline grows about the humble, strong, man raising her on his own.

There are actually quite a few reasons barns are red. Cheap paint color and the way the color absorbs the sun makes it warmer in the barn. Although I suppose the animals hate that in the summer.
