Reading deeply. Living thoughtfully.
Hello, I’m Carla!
My time here on the interwebs is constantly evolving. Because I evolve. Remaining stagnant stills the heart, so I choose to keep moving—to find more things that make my heart race with passion and to love myself and others as deeply as God loves me. While I still primarily read Christian closed door romance for my fun book, I also keep a variety of books available to me at any given time. The literary life is taking hold, and I want to embrace it in all of its many aspects. One might say I’ve developed a little crush.
The book reviews are primarily on those fun romance reads that I never want to put down. They are penned as labors of love—not only for the art and craft of writing but also for the love of God. You can also hear this reflected in the author interviews.
But a soul can’t be truly fed on fiction alone. There is only one book that truly grows your faith and points you in the right direction—and that is the Bible. As I study the Bible, I use tools like verse mapping, word studies, and journaling prompts to help Scripture sink a little deeper into my soul. I share that here through recaps of my Bible studies, thoughts on faith-based resources I’ve discovered, and my own faith reflections. Sometimes that ties into a book review or a devotional. Sometimes it’s just a peek into what God’s teaching me in this season.
And there are other types of books: gems of classic literature, books that teach a skill, and books that improve our reading, our relationships, and our relationship with reading. To read and study those, to share my perspectives and experiences, and to hear yours, is what this blog is all about.
I’m not your typical blogger. I won’t always publish on specific days or follow mainstream trends, though there are some aspects of the blogging community I enjoy participating in. This blog is a hobby, and I treat it as such. When I’m inspired, I write. When I’m not… well, you know. I’ll also talk about things beyond books and faith, such as knitting or cooking, but I always try to incorporate a little faith—sharing what I’m learning along the way.
Please know that I never expect anyone to believe or think exactly as I do. Everyone is welcome here. In fact, I enjoy engaging with people who challenge me and offer different perspectives. It’s one small way we can all grow.

Thank you for visiting. Stay and chat awhile—it’ll be fun!
